  7.                             *MiNT* *Atari*
  8. This file contains the particularities for the Atari MiNT version of Vim.
  9.  
  10. For compiling Vim on the Atari running MiNT see "INSTALL" and "Makefile"
  11. in the src directory.

  13. Vim for MiNT behaves almost exactly like the Unix version.
  14. The Unix behavior described in the documentation also refers to the
  15. MiNT version of Vim unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  17. For wildcard expansion of <~> (home directory) you need a shell that
  18. expands the tilde. The vanilla Bourne shell doesn't recognize it.
  19. With csh and ksh it should work OK.

  21. The MiNT version of vim needs the termcap file /etc/termcap with the
  22. terminal capabilities of your terminal. Builtin termcaps are
  23. supported for the vt52 terminal. Termcap entries for the TOSWIN window
  24. manager and the virtual console terminals have been appended to the
  25. termcap file that comes with the Vim distribution.

  27. If you should encounter problems with swapped <BS> and <Del> keys, see

  30. Because terminal updating under MiNT is often slow (e.g. serial line
  31. terminal), the 'showcmd' and 'ruler' options are default off.
  32. If you have a fast terminal, try setting them on.  You might
  33. also want to set 'ttyfast'.
